For technique.

Neil Peart
Bill Bruford

For ass kicking.

Keith Moon
John Bonham

And for overall coolness

Phil Collins

I'll resist the temptation to say Meg White (<3) and say Brann Dailor of Mastodon. Normally performing technical music doesn't matter to me at all but listening to him it's just hypnotic, and he really gives them their edge.

I voted for Peart but Bonham is my favorite, my second favorite would be Bill Bruford of Yes/KC fame, he's about as good as Peart is, I'd even argue that he's better.

Heres a vid of him.

Well, the best rock drummer ever is Phil Collins, so I can't say I really see the point in this poll.

Keith Moon...and by best I interpreted as 'favorite' so I pick Moon because he is insane at filling.

Baker doesn't get enough credit though. Terry Bozzio and Topper Headon are pretty underrated too.

He actually is a better drummer than people give him credit for.
