Personally I think Audioslave is just a Rage Against the Machine breakoff ensemble with Chris Cornell as a leading puppet.
I really wish that both Soundgarden and RATM had stayed together longer but 'twasn't meant to be.
I do like Cornell's vocals though so even though I might like that...
I don't think I'd like the band overall just because of my state of mind.

IMO Chris voice does not fit the style of music they are playing in audioslave. It just does not mesh well.

it does mesh well but there's just something missing...it's neither RATM nor Soundgarder, although i would say it's closer to Soundgarden...it's just not clicking with me...

I prefer it over their debut album by far..... although the song "Be Yourself" is kind of annoying.

I havent heard it yet but going by their first album audioslave has that empty feeling...like, the music is enjoyable but it is nothing special. I like audioslave but its the kind of band that if you had to name your favourite 20bands audioslave wouldnt even enter your head...not coz u dont like it, just you cant remember they exist.

You're saying that two of the most popular bands from the 90's that joined together to make a band with one Soundgarden member and three Rage member's wouldn't even pop into your head. It might just be me, but I find that a little hard to believe. Regardless of your opinion on their music.

I have two words for you. Velvet Revelover.
They are the same. 3 Memembers from one of the biggest bands on the planet ever and the lead singer from one of the biggest alt bands of other 90s put them together and what do you get? A very medoicre album(s).

I actually favored the Contraband album.
Much more so than Audioslave.
I mean GnR and STP kind of 'click together' a little bit.
RATM and Soundgarden don't click whatsoever in my mind.

I Dunno' Chris Cornell With the RATM dudes, its kinda' like beer and chocolate: both are really good, but for some reason they don't go so well together.
