The Guy On Vocals Died

Lets have some discussion of purely instrumental bands. My band mention for today:

http://www.bandprodigital.com/images...es/pelican.jpg

#1. Pelican

Are a quartet of musicians who come from Chicago. Three of the musicians originally came from the band Tusk, Larry Herweg (drums), Trevor De Brauw (guitar) and Laurent Lebec (guitar). Pelican are a modern day instrumental band, their first EP hit the shops in 2003. Pelican are a rather original band as they have musical roots planted in several genres, avantgarde, sludge, post rock and some songs contain a very eerie or atmospheric ambiance. March Into the Sea is a blistering 20 minutes long so they are no strangers to prog eather.

Band Members: Larry Herweg (drums), Trevor De Brauw (guitar), Laurent Lebec (guitar), Bryan Herweg (bass).

Songs to look for:
Drought
Forecast For Today
Last Day Of Winter
March Into The Sea

Pelican is like sex, except I'm having it.

I'll listen to Pelican sometime. In terms of instrumental bands, I like Joe Satriani (brilliant) and Liquid Tension Experiment.

March Into The Sea, all 20 minutes of it, felt like only 5 or 6. Thats how good it is listening to them. Time becomes irrelevant.

You bastard that was going to be my premier mention for today:p:

franscar 02-13-2006 03:50 PM

Well what's your premier mention for tomorrow so I can avoid saying them?

Merkaba 02-13-2006 03:58 PM

Haha it's a lucky dip thing. I have nothing planned so keep on mentioning. Red Sparowes is a wicked outfit though.

Well I was going to say Mono, but I feel a bit apprehensive about it now.
