nothing crazy nothing fast just smooth playing through the whole song that is made more the accent the vocals than stand out.

My fav all time solo section is easily: Dream Theater - "Metropolis, Pt. 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper."
And Soilwork - "Machine Gun Majesty" is up there,
as is Symphony X - "Of Sins and Shadows," and "A Fool's Paradise."
Children of Bodom - "Chokehold (****ed 'n' Loaded)" and also "Mask of Sanity."
Dream Theater - "Endless Sacrifice," and "Fatal Tragedy."
And let me chuck in the entire instrumental: "Biosfear" by Circus Maximus.

As for fav guitar solos:
8) In Flames - "December Flower" (1:26-2:10),
7) Dragonforce - "Fury of the Storm" (3:24 - 6:11),
6) Circus Maximus - "Glory of the Empire" (7:30-7:58),
5) Angra - "Angels and Demons" (2:03 -2:42),
