You know I was going to ask you guys, what the hell is BOC considered? Are they a fine line between prog and glam? Do they have blues based stuff, I've only heard a handfull of things but they seem to be devoid of vocal passion...and any sort of music tenacity as well...
Who are these guys? p.s. The Astronomy cover by metallica blew my ****ing mind.

I wouldn't consider them prog though they did have some proggy material, i certainly wouldn't consider them glam though i can hear a little Bowie influence in some of their work... I'd say overall they were just a rock n roll band, plain and simple.... Some however would go as far as to call them metal or proto metal, and i see that as a possibility.... Their influence on a lot of metal bands is pretty overlooked.
A lot of people label them AOR or Album Oriented Rock... Which is also what Journey, Foreigner and REO Speedwagon are considered to be... Which is a big insult to BoC. I don't consider them AOR though, AOR bands aren't badass enough to have Patti Smith write songs for them. |
