Well the way you posed the question makes it hard to answer so I'll divid eit up by genre.
Old school rock: Led Zepplin New School rock: Edguy or Fireball Ministry Hardcore: Either Zao or xDISCIPLEx A.D. both are legends Emo: Taking Back Sunday most original emo band around Metal: In Flames or Dark Tranquility |

and listen to the cmhwak radio station. everyband on there is good. heroin to the one am radio to kodan armada hell, if you listen to it long enough my band even pops up on their once or twice. |

Pretty much every band that makes music these days is ripping off Led Zeppelin at some point and in some way. They were incredible.

That was a good choice. Haha, Boston is another good older band. Guns N' Roses. There's bunches.

Everyone loves Fleetwood Mac as well, they made some fine tunes in their time. Last album was woeful though.
