Actually a good deal of modern bands have a Zep inspired sound, like The Mars Volta and The White Stripes, which many Zep fans dispise for reasons unknown to me.

As for Rock N Roll, I'm a fan of the very kind of "pompous, overblown" music that elitist R&R fans dispise, I don't really give a rats ass if Rock N Roll dies or not, heres hoping it does.

You can't objectify shit, it's already obvious about good and bad being subjective, hence we have the right to say The Beatles are bad and that Grand Funk Railroad are good, but regardless, even bands you hate have noticable talent and put a lot of care in their work, you can't pretend they don't just because they don't like them.

I hate Deep Purple with every bone in my body, but they are by no means talentless.

I don't know Boo Boo, Zep has some pompous and overblown stuff.

First off....what's your defination of "real rock"? and Second...rock will always be around.....there will be followers of a certain trend that's going on and there will be the occassional band here and there that branch out with a new sound or try to replicate their influences.
