Default Blind Guardian/Leaves Eyes

I had to make this it's own little post. It is a review of last night's concert and my own SUPER experiences.

Started out with two opening bands that I couldnt give a **** about. ONe was out of tune and the other was too loud. It was all local support, so they were nothing special.

Miles Beyond came on and I fell in love. The lead singer, Tim has such powerful vocals, he sounds like the guy from Iron Maiden, he's THAT amazing. And him and the lead guitarist had a faux duel on stage along with the big drum beats and it was pretty sweet. A friend and I split the cost of a CD and I'm burning it and giving the CD to her. After the show we also got the CD signed and the CD sleeve. I am taking the sleeve and she is getting the CD. We also talked the the lead guitarist, Paulo, for quite a while.

Then of course Leaves Eyes came on and Liv Kristine was looking gorgeous! They started out with Farewell Good Men which is one of my favorite songs, my favorite being Temptation which they also played and I got really into. I sung along to every single effing lyric and Liv kept eyeing me and smiling and extended her hand when she sung. They closed with Elegy and it was really powerful and just amazing. I met up with her after the show and she personally thanked me for singing along the whole time because it's endearing to see such a hardcore fan, knowing all the lyrics. I had her sign my ticket stub and I'm NEVER going to lose my ticket stub. EVER.

During the Leaves Eyes set I almost forgot that Blind Guardian was playing. But they took FOREVER to set up. Eventually the band members come on stage and the crowd is screaming. Hansi, the lead vocalist, comes on stage and everyone pushes to the stage to get closer, tightening and gaps between people and making it uncomfortable. They started out with Into the Storm, a favorite! And Hansi is even better live than recorded. His voice is AMAZING. And he's not THAT bad looking in person, I guess he just takes bad pictures. He was really interactive with the audience and it was awesome. The played Nightfall in their set and I was happy. They left the stage but came back for the encore to finish with two of my favorite songs, Bard's Song and Mirror. During Bard's song, Hansi did very little singing, the audience was roaring the lyrics quite well, it was a magical moment. Then it was great to end with Mirror because its such a powerful song and some moshing got started and headbanging all around, it was nice. My friend caught a guitar pick that was thrown out after the concert and she is more of a fan of Leaves Eyes than Blind Guardian, which is my FAVORITE band so I begged and begged. It cost me a pack of cigs, a water, and some fries from a restaurant, but she ended up giving it to me! This is the greatest concert of my life. Bands sounded good, crowd was fun, lots of memories and memoribilia. Amazing.

Oh, and then after the concert we had to jump a curb because the Blind Guardian groupies were blocking the exit and I messed up my car a bit. In doing so, I almost hit a guy and we talked to him to say sorry and he invited us to get a hotel room....no thanks....haha.

Um...nice.

But Blind Guardian > All, I agree.
