I’ve been exposed to more things RHCP recently and I realize that while their not the musical revolution they once were, they certainly are a respectable and quality band. I think unlike certain bands that have been going for as long as they have, their still going for it. I’m not their biggest fan but I get the impression their still trying, albeit with less quality results. I’d be more upset if they were mailing it in.

its kind of hard to be revolutional when you've already revolutionized your own type of music.. I agree they are still amazingly awesome for such an old band...

They were never revolutionary. So yeah, it's hard to still be revolutionary when you never were to begin with.

They are amazingly *bland* for such an old band. And boring. Their current music is uninteresting, unremarkable, insipid run-of-the-mill alt rock.

I have to disagree with you what is so great the chili peppers it that each album has a different style and feel to it. Also Anthony Kiedis lyrics and style of singing has changed a great deal from album to album

1. You think there bland because you don't listen to that type of music. (referring to there earlier years, 84-93)

2. And yes there were very revolutionary in that they were the first "white boys" that really blended funk and rock together to that extent.

The band's varied musical style has fused traditional rock and heavy metal with various elements of funk, punk rock, and psychedelic rock. -From Wikipedia

No. I think they're bland, as in, the Chilis of today are bland. The Chilis of Californication, Stadium Arcadium, and By The Way.

In spite of the fact that this is not true, I'll ignore that for the greater offense of the essence of your claim: that is, that they were revolutionary on merit of being white. Huh?

In response to Lucy Lamppost, I meant to say simply that it'd be odd for Dani to be in another song seeming as she was classed deceased in the last - but coming to think of it I can't really say that, as it could refer to some other incident in her life.
