Pretty sure he wasn't the first hard rock guitarist to do it. Read somewhere that he actually got the idea from seeing Jimmy Page do it at a LZ concert in the early '70s.

You need to get your facts straight.
Jimmy Page never tapped, ever. He didn't tap in Heartbreaker. Learn the difference between hammer ons and tapping, they're two completely different techniques. EVH credited Pages hammer ons as an influence on his tapping technique, but its not the same thing. Last edited by boo boo : 12-16-2007 at 10:53 PM. |
