But what about bands that formed in the 80's yet released their best material in the 90's?

If that's the case, my top 10 would be:

1. Smashing Pumpkins
2. Pearl Jam
3. My Bloody Valentine (80's/90's whatever!)
4. Pantera
5. Placebo
6. Nirvana
7. AFI
8. At The Drive-In
9. Machine Head
10. Tool
