Yeah, Mustaine is pretty whiny but he's not as bad as Lars.

Are you kidding me? Nothing Metallica has come up with recently has been any good. Their last couple albums have sucked like black holes! They ruined their career when they tried to go on without Cliff Burton. They should have called it quits right there. Since then, nothing worth listening to has come out from them. Because of the fact that half of Metallica's albums were horrible, Megadeth wins this one without a question.

Both bands are good, both have had their ups and downs. Honestly, I prefer Metallica over Megadeth. The songwriting ability of Hetfield/Ulrich simply outshines the writing skill of Mustaine. Sure Mustaine is a good guitarist and can write some kick ass music. But Hetfield and Ulrich do it better.

I think metallica had a slight edge over Megadeath up till they released the black album...everything after that was a little sub par, some tracks were good like "Load - Fuel" but Metallica did kind of fizzle out after that. Megadeath kind of got an edge from then on. But dont get me wrong, both bands ****in rock.

In my opinion, Metallica of the first four akbums is much better the Megadeth (well, even though I didn't realy liked 'Kill'em All') because of their high technique and deep lyrics, but since they have gone doing MTV album in order to make money and not music, I think that Megadeth had topped them.

I just love 'Peace sells... but how's buying', it's a classic.

The first three or four Metallica records were awesome. I loved the first two Megadeth records and then Rust In Peace. Countdown To extinction had some good songs too. But both bands started making some horrid records at the same time. I hated Load and reLoad, as much as Risk.

So I would have to say it's a tie.
