Im so glad we had this thread because we don't get in fights about this non-stop anyway.

You know what, im almost certain rock was started when they banged on dead animal skins wrapped around bowls. The first guys to play "drums" had no skill or training...like keith moon. There ya go Adam and Eve inventive friggen rock.

Actually, Rock didn't start out with banging on corpses, as TheBig3KilledMyRainDog says... it's roots are in Religion. (Believe it or not) Rock n Roll, which is the grandfather of modern Rock, was born from Gospel singing...

Jazz started rock, which started metal, which started punk, which started hardcore... it all came from jazz. why else do bands still have a bass?
