Red face Trying to learn.

My parents are teaching me about 'old' rock music. When I told them I never heard of Ledzepilan, I thought they might ground me. I guess Pink Floyd are alright, I've always liked Queen's music though. Just thought I'd mention this.

ah cmon, give her a chance, at least shes attempting to learn instead of some of the unintelligent fools who automatically label a type of music or band as "crap" without having heard any material.

Can we put a moritorium on old bands. enough talking about them. Its all we fuking talk about. And not even most old bands, just zeppelin and the beatles, sans arrett and Im starting to think there are alot of dejected 12 year olds who want to rebel against the jocks in their HS.

No one mentions the classic groups that weren't super mega stars. Someone bring up Rush, or King Crimson, and mention a song that isn't on a greatest hits package, and for gods sake, don't somehow tie it in with the beatles or zeppelin.

I`d save your breath , I`ve started threads in Big Star , Alice Cooper , Muddy Waters , I`ve also spoken about Krautrock , Lee Scratch Perry , Frank Zappa , The Birthday Party , P.I.L. , Mr Scruff , LCD Soundsystem and pretty much all of them died on their arse.

It seems if it`s not classic rock , punk , emo or hip hop nobody really cares.

No wonder mainstream music is so stale
