Napalm Death popularized Grindcore just like how Pantera popularized Groove Metal, both are pretty influential.

This is the "worst metal band" thread, even if you dislike or hate Pantera it would be a overstatement to say they that they are one of the worst bands there is.

So when you asked if they had killed my dad you were expecting a serious answer?

What worthwhile metal bands would you say are most heavily influenced by Pantera?

Well, if you back up and actually, you know, read what I originally wrote about them, you'll notice that I said they weren't really the worst ever but that they still deserved a special mention in this thread.

I wouldn't say Napalm Death only popularized grindcore. I would say they paved the way for pretty much every extreme metal band that came after them.
Show me one example of something that sounded remotely anything like Napalm Death's Scum album released before that album came out that even had a small amount of impact. By the 90s there was thousands of bands following what they had done many of them becoming hugely successful even to this day.

And Pantera had a dubious influence on a passing fad that died in the late 90s.

No comparison really.

Not only only did they do that but think of the insane amount of awesome bands that came out of ND. Cathedral especial kicks some serious arse.

I did say "be honest", but no. It's more the fact that your points in this thread have been beyond moot, it seems to me you are just arguing for the sake of arguing, rather than actually having anything worthwhile to say. If you actually articulate your points with a worthwhile post rather than a or a tongue-in-cheek comment, then maybe I could take your opinion seriously. But honestly, I think you're either posting in this thread because you have nothing better to do, or are attempting to become MB's next resident troll. Either way, you opinion not only differs from mine, but lacks the support to even be considered a legitimate argument at all.

Didnt Buckethead and Mike Patton both join that band or at least record a little for them in the past?
