Most of the bands I've seen so far have nothing to do with Death Metal. So here's a good starting list for some true Death.

Deicide
Immolation
Cryptopsy
Anata
Necrophagist
Kataklysm
Morticon
Hypocrisy
Nile
Morbid Angel
Cannibal Corpse
Decapitated
Carcass
Zyklon
Dissection
The Berzerker
Entombed
Napalm Death
Suffocation
Death
Possesed

A few of those bands aren't complete Death Metal though, just Death woth a few variations

Anathema, Ancient Rites, Android Lust, Angelzoom, Atrocity, Bathory, Blind Guardian, Blood Bath, Brujeria, Brutal Truth, Childrem Of Bodom and Christian Death to just name a few IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER TOO...feel special! lol

Blind Guardian is Operatic Metal

Immolation...well i guess they could be considered death. i've always thought of them being more black than not.

Necrophagist is so much better now than even 2 years ago. I saw a video of them. Did they get a new singer?

Immolation are pretty much straight death, there's very little to no black metal in them.
