How about Hester Prynn or Legends Never Die, both by As Blood Runs Black?

The second breakdown in Hester Prynn (the song really gets going after the first one) just makes me want to rip something apart.

Well, I would have to say that most of Serj Tankian's music is pretty intense, and so is SOAD's...

I really like Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition by Serj, but that doesn't seem intense enough for me...

I'd probebly have to say Violent Pornography, Sugar, or Chop Suey by SOAD.

The 5 Dragonforce songs I have are pretty intense. A couple Clash songs are pretty intense as well.

Yeah, Dragonforce is pretty intense, but their live shows suck in my opinion...

I like their songs Cry For Eternity, Soldiers of the Wasteland, and Black Fire.

Also, I rally used to like Through the Fire and Flames, but for some reason it's annoying to me now.

I find "The Noose" by A Perfect Circle very intense...but the most intense I don't know...maybe "Hurt" by NIN?

Oh of course. It's because all they can do is stuff in their studio because they aren't insanely technically skilled. I have a metalhead friend who raves about Dragonforce being overrated, when they aren't even that acclaimed.

I think Serj's music is of a very different breed than SOAD, and much more melodic than System. The proprietary driving force in the System career was not Serj, but Daron, who proved he had amazing songwriting skills. I still think their pseudo-double album (Mezmerize/Hypnotize) is one of the best metal albums ever produced, and it was largely at the hands of Daron. I think he may have felt as if the media stripped most of the credit from him and gave it to Serj because of Serj's early influence with the band. That may have led to their hiatus, I don't know. But yes, they have some very intense songs.

I think it's quite clear Daron is the main talent, it's even more obvious on Mezmerise/Hypnotise where he really steps into the limelight. I'm not an enormous fan of Hypnotise but Mezmerise is incredible, really focused songwriting which wants to stretch it's horizons, yet it still all blends together. He's a brilliant musician as well which adds to his credit more.

It's not so clear to most non-fans in the media and on the radio. It's clear to you, me and everyone else that has had even a nominal interest in the band, but a lot of people have misconceptions about Serj's talents. Maybe because he looks so much more the part of a crazy motherf*cker than Daron, I dunno. You won't see a Scars On Broadway album in anybody's top ten list, but Serj has no trouble securing fans.

Really, you didn't enjoy Hypnotize? It may not have had as many singles but it was utterly incredible to hear the mixed harmonies and impressive melodic compositions by Daron. The only song I didn't enjoy completely was Vicinity of Obscenity, and mostly because I didn't understand it. I think Daron gets overlooked sometimes even by people because System was so strange. But that's what was so great about them. I'll always love System, always - no matter how many people resent them for their early cult following.
