the topic isn't which bands have "awesome" songs or what bands are "extreme"

its which song in your opinion is the most "intense"

both thebig3 and itchy have excellent choices.

Slipknot? SOAD ? Morbid Angel?

Those bands are about as intense as a rice pudding.

Just because a band plays fast or screams things such as "GGGRRRRRRRRFUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH " over a riff played at 200mph in every song, that means nothing.

Your average Ian Curtis or PJ Harvey song (I nominate Crawl Home for this BTW) has more intesity in the first line than a hundred Slipknot albums ever will.

If by 'intense' you mean an amazing song that leaves you stunned, then I say,
'Dunkelheit'
'Funeral Fog'
'A Blaze In The Northern Sky'

Okay, I think Don't Drag Me Down by Social Distortion is pretty intense. Especially near the end of the song..

Here's a thought; let's stop labeling music and fighting over what genre a certain band is, and start listening to whatever pleases our ears no matter what anyone thinks of it! ;)
