Default Black Sabbath - God Is Dead? thoughts

Well, we were talking in the Black Sabbath album thread about how the belief is this won't be their best album yet. Which of course is a given.

But what do you think of their new single?

See most versions of the song without the "I Heart Radio on Demand" thing intact were removed. But I am sure you can find it, do your own searching.

I am just happy I extracted the audio from the video before it was deleted. haha.

Anyway. I think it is a good single, not great.. could easily fit on an Ozzy solo album and be just as good. Doesn't scream Black Sabbath to me as much as I thought it would. But I still think it is a decent enough track.

Do you suggest anything better? This is Black Sabbath, bear in mind, not some upbeat Herman's Hermits. Please suggest a reason for why it is ''wank.''

Definitely not bad for a band with almost 45 years under their belt.

Ok hate me if you please but to be quite frank, this is the only Sabbath song I felt was boring. The song is way to long for what it is. To me it screams a rip off of Black Sabbath the song, but incredibly slow and bland. It may be a grower though, it definitely sounds like something that would grow on me. I was quite shocked to realize that Ozzy voice was low xD I completely forgot about all his solo stuff going into the song and forgot it's been quite a long time since these guys made a song together.

I know it is Rick Rubin's sole purpose on Earth to create music with the world's flattest production, but wow. This sounds like listening to Black Sabbath on a iPhone speaker. And, for an 8 minute song, it's too freakin long to be this simple.

But, considering this was picked as the promo track/single (with I Heart Radio's hand involved I'm sure) I'm interested to hear what the rest of the album will have. If this was the most accessible, radio ready track on the album, maybe we'll get some of that old Black Sabbath we know and love will be on the rest of the album...

I love the new Sabbath song. It sounds like old Sabbath, but it's like they started from where they left off in the late 70s and progressed that sound.

I'm not much of a fan of Ozzy's solo ****..I really liked his first album, then it just doesn't do it for me. But ever since Black Rain, I've absolutely loved what he's put out.

As much as I'm angry about Ward not being in the mix, there was a point in the song where I forgot it wasn't him on drums.

Very nicely done, that earned my pre-order.

P.S.: I GOT TICKETS TO SEE THEM IN WASHINGTON THIS SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!
