Default The Official "I Love ISIS" Thread

Goddamn, do I love ISIS. They kind of helped changed my perspective on the way I see things. My favourite element of ISIS is how complex they are, I really dig their approach. ISIS is a little brutal at times though, imo.

What are your thoughts on ISIS?

We all know. Thanks for the giant pic, by the way. I forgot how well Egyptian goddesses with their bangs could fit into 1960's girl bands.

Hey Frownland, don't leave me in anticipation! Are you gonna tell me who the band you're talking about is?

Yes but have they made you consider a turban and black nikes as permanent fashion sense?

They sound alright, but after the build-up I was kind of disappointed. Being named after an Egyptian goddess, I expected them to be psychedelic or something. *shrug* Thanks for filling me in, though!

They're post-metal so you have kind of listen to a full album to get the whole picture with them.

I've spent the last two weeks learning most of the songs off Panopticon, I think "Wills Dissolve" is my favorite to play, although "Altered Course" is my favorite to listen to. I've mostly listened to their Oceanic and later material, but Celestial and the EPs they released in between had some really solid sludge material on it.

It's nice getting to talk so much about ISIS, I kind of wish they were still around. OH, and might as well put it here, but Aaron Turner put out an album under the name [b]Sumac[/i] and it kind of sounds like early ISIS.

I listened to Panopticon. Didn't really grab my attention.
