Not really a fan of either, but Within Temptation might at least be a bit more catchy. Epica just bores me on a deep, primal level. It's music with no soul. Basically, if Mark Jansen is involved with a band, I'll find it as flat and dry as cardboard.

I've always been a bigger WT fan than one of Epica. The latter's constant use of growls annoys me; it's so formulaic at this point you can almost tell when they're going to do it. I kind of only listen to them because of the Kamelot link.

Simone Simons has nice hair and a pretty face but is kind of generically hot, whereas Sharon den Adel has a more interesting face and bigger boobs. So Within Temptation win for me, cause those are the only things of note about either band.
