You're only considering what metal acts they influenced. Metallicas influence, for many diffrent reaons, is huge. MOP + Black = Near overwhelming respect. You liked one of those albums...chances are.

I know nirvana listend to Celtic Frost, which, sounded pretty metal to me. But I've only heard a few tracks.

I'm not saying that Maiden is more influencial, just that their influence is more deverse in terms of genre, for the record i like Metallica more.

You can't really say which ar better or more influentail, because Sabbath became way before maiden were around. Sabbath were great back in the day but there nothing now because Ozzy's ****ed. You see Sabbath kind of invented the metal genre along with Deep Purple so they certainly influnced Maiden a lot. BUT Iron Maiden are perhaps the biggest metal band around, probaly more popular that Sabbath, but talent-wise there about the same. Ozzy never has had a great voice, but he's been a great frontman. However Bruce is a great singer and frontman, and is obviously Maidens best frontman. Sabbath's Tony Iommi kicks ass though and is better than any guitarist Maiden have ever had..I personally prefer Maiden, but I guess that's because Bruce is just so damn great at what he does and I prfer his voice to Ozzy's. Now, as to who's better you can't really say because I guess it's a question that will never an answer one way or tother.. I also prefer maiden live, they are just such a great live act, not that Sabbath arn't but I just prefer the whole Eddie thing to Ozzy's dark lord act..Iron maiden have certainly the better image. But I guess it is relaly down to personal prefence..

HAHA, if you really think dungeon and dragons type lyrics are so bad i assure you that there are many bands with far more horrible lyrics than Maidens...Try Dragonforce.

You do know that if you take the first 6 Iron Maiden albums only 3 songs have dungeons & dragons style lyrics?
