The music that is corrupting American Youth..? (metal, punk, rap)

i recently read in a magazine article about a group of mothers who were forming a group similar to mothers against alcohol but instead it was mothers against rock/metal music. the mothers who have formed or joined this group are trying to pass an amendment forbidding rock/metal music. their complaint is that this type of music has corrupted their kids. that this music has been the cause of suicide, drinking, drugs, and violence, etc.

my complaint;
these mothers are fighting to ban rock but what about the other music genres out there? such as rap? what about rap videos that are basicly like porn and advertise women only as objects and only good for one thing?
what about rappers that encourage gangs and beating women, or advertise crack/cocaine? or female artist who will take off any piece of clothing to sell a record? if you ask me this is stupid and idiotic. if you are going to try to ban music don't leave out the real garbage.

and yes some rock is horrible. but not all. some rap is horrible. not all.

the main point i'm trying to make is that music is a freedom of speech and music CANNOT force you to take any action such as suicide or act of violence. we make those desicions.

and for the mothers who don't know how much music saves lives instead of taking it away they need to get a clue. i've had a couple of good bands that got me throught some tough times.
music saves lives and enriches them.

as for corruption...
their pointing their fingers in the wrong directions.

i'd like to hear your opinions on this group of over protective mothers.

if you ask me goverment, capatlizm, rap, and religon are the only thing corrupting america if you ask me music like punk is decorrupting kids cause if you ask me when the corrupt say you are corrupt wouldnt that make you uncorrupt.

I would like to point this out, in the mid 90s the current pope benedict XVI made a crusade against rock music, and targeted a few bands in paticular, calling them diciples of Satan, among those he mentioned were Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Doors and The Eagles, yes thats right folks, THE EAGLES!...No mention of death metal bands directly writing songs about worsipping satan and rap and hip hop stars condoning drugs, violence and objectifying of women, after all they are not the real problem, the eagles is what is corrupting our children, just listen to take it easy and tell me that isnt the most hardcore and satanic song you have ever heard.
