Actually, the new album incorporates many new ideas. Maynard's lyrics are much more straightforward, and rather than just singing/screaming, he experiments with several divergent vocal techniques. Danny incorporates bells and Middle Eastern percussion into some songs, and on the track "Rosetta Stoned", he drums in two different time signatures simultaneously. "Wings For Marie/10,000 Days", at intervals, almost appears to meander as if devoid of any sort of backbone, while still flawlessly satiating the sonic space. Justin and Adam have both improved greatly (technically), and they virtually reverse roles on the album, as the bass seems to take on more of a lead position, while the guitar grasps the pulse of each track.

you need to branch out a bit.

I listen to everything from Electronica to Blues to Avant-Garde Jazz to Psychedelic Rock to Indian Classical to Rap to Death Metal. I think I've branched far enough.
