Birds Always Fly South No Matter How Pretty They Sing
Birds Always Fly South No Matter How Pretty They Sing.
You're just like the silhouette dying as the sun sets
You slowly stretch your arms and let go of me,
And your feelings remain opaque despite the question
I don't know why I expected love to bloom in your eyes,
Tell me, did the seeds we laid those months ago ever grow?
No, I don't think so.
And I must confess i'm at a loss for words as I wait for it to come out,
"Oh hes just some guy i've seen around - don't worry"
I sit mystified and perplexed at what you say,
I use to believe every word you spoke but i'm afraid,
You've become a liar to me and its really hard
To place my trust in you when I know who loves who.
And it looks like i've loved a lie again, listening to the whisper
Of your words floating around in my head and all those midnight talks,
They never really meant much to you did they? just a way to kill time,
While I tell you how much I care, but now i'm tracing onto a paper,
And I was once told hearts don't break they only bend,
But it can only bend so far before it snaps again,
And all those things you tried to cure,
They've come back and my visions becoming more blurred,
Who ever believed I was a strong person anyway?
Looking at dead eyes and then washing them in hopes,
To make my vision clean, but I still can't see why.
And when you said I was your favorite person in the world,
I believed you and I guess thats why this hurts.
