Honestly, I'm Not Bitter
this isnt done..
Honestly, I'm Not Bitter I've Just Been Feeling Oddly Reflective.
And I remember you laying your head on my shoulders
And your blue eyes would pour like water from a well
Over me, and i'd sit memorized and wonder what if we
Vanished like steam? Recalling memories of how I told you,
When I took that month of self-discovery I just wanted
To be chained to the ground, and hoped you were the metal i'd found,
As I opened my eyes, to what i'd done and began to realize,
I was just doing just as he'd done, and so I showed you a polaroid
From a lifetime ago and you could never love his frozen face,
Captured and waved, and those scary nights I brought on to myself,
Wondering what would happen if I never awoke,
Would I find myself floating towards the sky?
Or just be nowhere at all, and so after some failures,
You came back to me, like a bird down by the sea,
Clinging to the sand, but once it all washed away,
You learned that love is just a passing phase,
And I guess I could never believe you were gone,
Sorting through books about psychics and god.
