The whole idea of writing is coming up with stuff YOURSELF, if you get your ideas from other people, it makes you a pretty useless writer. Plus, what will you do when no one will help?

Just post something like "The thoughts of an alien as it progresses through its life stages"/"Vignettes from a piece of classic literature"/etc. or get the **** out of my thread.

Why would you possibly think a very general thread was a commission for me to bask in your creative genius *sigh*

Ok, I have had this problem before... what is it about what I type that insinuates that I need your help, not opinion.

Technically we're on topic. You asked for help, we're helping you, by telling you, don't ask for help. People need to stop asking people to give them stuff to write about. If you don't come up with it on your own, it means next to nothing.

Ok. Instead of putting down, yet still allowing you to think up a concept for yourself - let's talk about ways of getting ideas...

Think of stories that have interested you... think of things you can talk about with a visceral emotion. Take something simple from your child hood and put a spin on it.... for example:

Hansel and Gretel after the candy cottage. What happened to those two? Did they grow up with emotional scarring, did Gretel become a whore, did Hansel become addicted to crack rock candy... ? I mean.. it's simple, it's silly... but thats really what all concepts are. Write out a short story sans lyrical intentions... make it a few pages long.. look at what themes developed, look at crucial points in the story... make songs out of them. Read other concept albums. Tommy. The Coheed and Cambria discography is one giant Concept. Read some Operas... Musicals... go to it, don't be lazy about it if you want it to be good.
