Promises.

I sit here wishing I could cry
But I just let out a sigh,
I can't say I didn't expect this,
And you can blame me,
But I can't say I do,
I wish you knew how much this meant to me,
I wish you know how much you meant to me,
A thousand roses grow in a town where it only rains,
To be drowned out and reform as nothing more
Than foliage and shit on the ground.

I wish I could be the one that enters your mind
Before you make the same mistake,
Time after time,
I'm at a loss for words,
But not caused by starry blue eyes,
That will outlast the sky,
In my mind,
Makes me want to die,
I've confessed too much in poetry,
Making love to you in song
Isn't the greatest way to explain this.

I'm sorry this is so unpleasant,
My heart's just been doing that thing again,
That thing you hate,
That thing that makes marriages
Last a lifetime.
It seems that every time we kissed,
I stupidly thought it was love,
Stupid.
