wow hi
You've been gone for months but I've been
Kissing you through unwritten poetry
And paintings I quickly brush over.
I remember nights when all we had
Was the other's voice, I'd listen to you laugh,
In a thousand different ways,
I'd kiss you and when you were too far
I'd send each and everyone one the wind
Hoping they'd reach your lips.
I wished for your love every night,
And by my side you slowly froze my spine,
With a single touch, I never dreamed
That love could be so simple,
I sang you songs of birds
And oceans we'd never touch,
But I wrote your name all along the west coast
That one summer we spent apart.
All I can see your eyes I know
A charmless man can't hold onto
Charming hands but briefly
We touch, not in love,
Your words are like shattering waves,
And I feel the salty sting against my cheek,
I don't know what to say,
It's in my voice,
It's in my eyes,
I hear you in white noise,
But how can I form sentences?
When I'm as imperfect as ever,
And you still sit, a glow, a songbird,
A shining star on my horizon,
I will lay in admiration,
And pray to god you never burn out.
