Don't Tell Me - New song Lyric help

This is a lyric for my new album. A clsoe friend of mine said they didn't understand what the the lyrics were about when I let them hear a rough mix. What do you think? Is it any good? I'm quite proud of them.

I think it's a bit too personal on the first verse. "The devolution of my social life". You dont need to let the listener use his mind when he listens to it, he/she doesn't want to consciously comprehend the lyrics. It should just flow.

What does the chorus mean?

What do you mean by "Dont tell me you're trying to save that line".. Which line are you talking about? It should be a little more comprehensible, otherwise it can be put together into something catchy for sure.
