They say it’s all against the law
but that just makes them want to do it some more
But then the doctors push their pills in exchange for dollar bills
and that just makes it even worse than before.

So in the meantime we all get stoned
cause we can’t handle life on its own
What’s wrong with a bit of coke and whiskey after work
when you get home?

After all at the end of the day it’s all no good for you
We only tell ourselves its OK and it’s alright to do
But we still feel the same everyday and where still feeling blue

Now the kids think its OK
to have a little drink and smoke when they play
But the trouble is that they don’t know when to stop
and the rules have changed.

And my heart keeps caving in
and all my chances keep wearing thin
And even though I keep trying I’m slowly dying
and I can never win.
