If We Walk Away, They’ll Walk Away

So I sit with a drink in my hand and think about,
A stand off in a smoking land still burning from bombs dropped,
And a cowboy hes just smiling listening to the song of families crying,
And using a mix of tears and blood to give strength,
To the musicians fingers playing death's harmony.

And the cowboy he preaches to us all behind his podium,
"They're innovative and resourceful our enemies,
But don't worry so are we,
They're just out to damage our country,
But don't worry so are we."

So he talks to us about all his beliefs and ideals,
Of which we all should seek, and with a fumbling faltering voice,
And with a southern draw, he tells of his plans for national defense,
A gun for every boy and a butterknife for every girl.

And the cowboy he preaches to us all behind his podium,

But don't worry so are we,
They're just out to damage our country,

So i'm sitting there a drink in my grasp and a pen and a plan,
And a boy walks up to to me and he says,
"Mister theres something you should see,
I have this gun now 'cause its the law,
And me and my brother were just playing robbers and cops,
And I forgot the safety and shot him down,
And when they came to take his body away,
They told me, 'don't worry son,
Child don't you see? We're here to harm this country.'"
