Parliament version of Sgt Pepper?

George Clinton said in an interview a few years back that Parliament recorded their own version of the entire Sgt. Pepper album in 1967 but never put it out.

No one is quite sure where these records are but a few days back Tuff City Records posted a clip of studio chatter from the sessions on their facebook and instagram for the 50th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper.

so I guess the mythical recordings actually do exist? Anyone have any other info on this?:band:

Lol they probably just dropped a bunch of acid and recorded 12 hours of unsalvageable jams.

Free Your Mind proved they could groove and rock coherently while tripping, so with the music already written I imagine they would not have a difficult time recording a cover of Sgt. Pepper at all.

I always up for hearing a Beatle cover-song, or even an entire album. I haven't heard about a Parliament version. I have to look that up. The album I was into lately was the Easy Star version. I dig the chill groove of Dub. I would love to hear a Funk version of it.

Easy star lonely hearts dub band (full album) Album
