Any WWE fans?

Is there any pro wrestling fans here? :)

ThePhanastasio 09-18-2012 04:22 AM

Yep! Pro wrestling fan and trainee, here. I watch WWE and ROH more or less religiously, but I'm also big on checking out TNA, Chikara, PWG, New Japan, and Shimmer, when time allows. Along with the obvious of checking out local and regional promotions.

I am an avid pro wrestling fan as well. It is my goal to one day train. There is a professional wrestling academy and promotion just hours from where I live (Harley Race's World League Wrestling in Eldon, MO).

I watch WWE and TNA, and keep up to date on ROH, PWG, NJPW (as I have no way of watching them in my area).

ThePhantasio, you and I have gotta chat my man! I guess I somehow missed the fact that you were training all this time!

Haha, yeah. I've only been training for a few months, between one and three times a week, but I'm going to be working paid matches fairly soon. Jobbing, I'm sure. I've been learning well, though; very, very technical stuff, and a stronger chain wrestling foundation than I even knew was possible, to be quite honest. I'm learning things from Lucha Libre, Cornish wrestling, straight up shooting (but the pro wrestling way to do it, too, although a lot of it is just as safe, albeit it a little stiffer) and lots of Malenko-style.

It really gets to the point where a lot of the chain wrestling, counters, takdedowns, and even throws are pretty second nature. For example: I'm acclimated now to, if I've got a headlock locked in and still need to have advantage to switch it to a hammerlock and do single leg takedown, go ahead and do a headlock takedown, switch it to a hammerlock, or go to the ropes and shoot them off for a sequence. And I've somehow got in my head which is appropriate without even thinking about it, really.

I also have multiple counters in mind for just about every hold that can be thrown at me.

Wrestling training results in a lot of bruises, occasional sharper pains when you bump weird, but it's totally worth it. Matches between Steven/William Regal and Dean Malenko are a good show of what I'm really working on, but I'm learning a bit of quicker and flashier stuff as well.

Yessir. Been watching WWE for around a year now after leaving it be for what must have been half a decade. Also getting into TNA as of late. Both very good at the moment.

I'm a massive fan. Don't tell anyone though.

Viazon 09-20-2012 05:06 PM

Yeah, Im a fan. Watch it all the time. Im not as huge of a fan as I used to be but I still watch it, mostly just because its something to watch these days. Back when I was a huge fan though, I went to Chicago to watch Wrestlemania 22. Was an epic night.

I got to see Andre the Giant in action once, teamed up with Hillbilly Jim. Also got to see the Bushwhackers fight the Brain Busters that same evening. It was pretty epic.

Taker returns to a WWE live show!

Surely the build up to Taker vs Punk will start this RAW, when Punk loses to Cena?

He's back!! This is tremendous news. I'm still hoping for Lesnar/Taker to be honest.

Anyone seen this by the way

If kayfabe wasn't dead before this, it certainly is now. still awesome though.
