Default Laptop Recommendations

Think my ancient desktop has finally **** out for good. Anyone have any recs for decent laptops under $300 American? I need heavy flash capabilities for fancy websites like plug.dj, multitasking, ability to withstand almost constant use and decent gaming power. I also need a Windows OS, preferably that comes with an Office pack.

I know almost nothing about computer specs, I just need the best thing for the cheapest and I don't trust Best Buy reviews

Seriously...look at Samsung. I've been using one for two years and I love it. They're cheap and very sleak. They fly under the radar I feel.

Here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/laptop-c...at247400050000

Asus and Lenovo are probably your best bet.

Getting them from a place like Best Buy means you're gonna end up with a bunch of bull**** bloatware that comes with their installs rather than a clean version of Windows but they are perfectly suitable for what you are looking to do. They won't run games with max graphics or anything fancy, but any gaming laptop is gonna be at least a few $100 over what you're looking to spend. Depending on what games you play try to find some sort of video card upgrade option if you can swing the extra money, these low-end budget systems can handle games but not that well once you start getting into some of the more graphic intense games.

Here's a few more reputable websites to search:

I was kinda assuming this site was chock full of tech geeks who could give me a list of specific laptops tailored to my needs as throughly as possible while staying in my price range.

Think I'll just post this on a more appropriate forum. I sometimes forget this is a music board, not a catch all for my every whim haha.

You won't get a good gaming laptop for that budget, a decent general-use laptop yes. An Asus laptop would be the best value for money. I've had one for the past couple of months and I've had no problems with it so far. You should be able to get one with 6/8GB RAM and an Intel Core i5 processor for just a little bit over your budget, maybe even under. Try to stay away from laptops with AMD processors if possible, they'll burn themselves out through overheating.

Also, most Windows installations come with a trial version of Microsoft Office. Don't bother with it, uninstall it and download Libre Office instead for free.

Psshh. What was wrong with my answer!? You're just being lazy!

Asus 15.6" Laptop Intel Core i3 4GB Memory 500GB Hard Drive X551CA-BI30804C - Best Buy - ON SALE

Newegg.com has TONS of refurbished systems that I can link you to unless you're against that.

I'll throw this out there since it's in your price range...

On a side note, there was a hilarious commercial for the Asus Tai Chi with Doug Gilmour in it.
