I remember those days of David O'Dreary splashing out 175 million on players and finishing 5th 2 years in a row and using crap excuses like 'We`re a young team we`ve still got a long way to go'.

I work with a Leeds fan , she doesn`t talk about football half as much as she used to a few years back

I used to work with a Leeds fan too. The amount of money I took off him in bets was criminal. He was his own worst enemy...easy money.

Typical mouthy Leeds fan.

I was away on holiday the day United bought Cantona for a million.
There was this gobby Leeds fan I was always trading (good humoured) insults with at the pool bar. That morning I couldn't believe my eyes when I bought the paper and saw the back page headlines.
When I showed him the paper, he didn't believe me...he even accused me of having the paper made especially.

Enough to say that the tosser didn't speak to me after that.
Didn't stop me wishing him good morning (in an over cheerful way) for the remainder of his stay though.

Someone told me Wilkinson phoned Ferguson about buying Denis Irwin or somebody & Ferguson said no but we`ll have Cantona for a million?

If thats true then thats gotta be transfer of the decade.

It is true. Wilkinson wasn't happy with Cantona and saw the opportunity to off-load him.
As you know, United never looked back after that.

Eric was the kind of player that seemed to understand what was going on around him, with an uncanny ease.
Some of the passes he made, when he had his back to the play were sheer genius. One step ahead...all the time.
Never seen anything like him before, or since.
