I don't think it makes him a worse player and he's no better or worse than any other English keepers around at the moment.

I watched him at the weekend (match of the day...not on a webcam) for what was my first good look at him and he impressed.

A very good friend of mine is a Man U supporter and he was telling me the reason why they hate Liverpool is the fact that for years their fans were ramming the fact that they had won so many european cups and domestic titles constantly down Man U fans throats. Hmmm I see a pattern emerging!
