Default Composing on the computer or on the go?

I was wondering if anyone could refer me to products compatible with Windows for composing music. Particularly, I'd like to experiment and learn more with Electronic influences in rock music. My friend has Logic Pro, but I believe it 's only for MAC..

Also, I've been considering purchasing a Roland PMA-5 recently... These are apparently rather rare and/or old, but I was just gonna throw this out there and see if anyone had anything good or bad to say about it.

Default Cubase

Well I found Cubase SX, and it's as confusing as possible... Better than nothing, though.
If anyone knows of any other programs or has any info on the Roland PMA-5, please let me know.
Thanks.
