The first generation of L6 Flextone amps were great. All of the guitars on this were recorded using a first generation POD. The leads during the main riff is a tele, then an LP during the breaks, and then a MM Petrucci model for the crazy middle section and the outro solo.

I've got Amplitube and I think it's great. Right now I just use it when I want to play later at night and not disturb anybody. I haven't really tried their recording programs, but they are intuitively laid out and easy to operate. So long as you have a USB audio interface you should have no trouble getting it to work.

Pretty sure I'd heard that one before. You won't find a Line 6 product today with tones like that.

I bought Native Instrument's Komplete Audio 6 sound card with xlr/jack inputs and got Guitar Rig with it as a special deal. I don't use a lot of effects and so haven't really tried much else, but it seems good to me.

For recording vocals and acoustics, I got a Røde NT1-A mic which I'm very happy with.

For software I use reaper. All in all, a cheap but useful home studio setup.

I've been using Sonar for years, now I'm using pro tools in some editions! My interface is a M-Audio 2626 and I have some preamps too, but the with just the interface and a good mic I can get a good sound for my ears

Anyone else into cassette recording? Last January I got a Tascam 414MKII and it was a really good decision for me. It's so simple it really streamlined the song making process for me and lead to me recording and making music that I probably wouldn't have made.

I normally use Google drive to save all of my important records. It's really secure and trust able for me.

Focusrite Scarlett Studio, it basically covers almost everything I need. As for software, the newest GarageBand.
