Default A software recognizing recorded notes?

Hello everybody, new to this forum and wanted to ask whether there's a music software that can recognize the notes from an audio file such as mp3 or wav, or the notes played straight from a guitar to the computer?
thanks

Not sure about the audio file but I know that Finale or MuseScore have midi dictation capabilities. In which case you plug it in and play and it dictates what's been played.
