Cubase or Ableton?

I am trying to decide what DAW to get on my windows laptop. I can only afford the most basic version now but will upgrade later. I have experience using Logic and Pro tools at college but want a DAW I can work on at home. I am more interested in composition and production than live performances (and would mainly be working on ambient electronic tracks) if this makes a lot of difference. Also, on a side note, if someone could explain the difference between Ableton Live and Ableton Push that would be really helpful. Thank you :)

The the most obvious solution: download two trials and compare them by yourself. However assuming your DAW experience and expectations you are most likely to choose Cubase.
