I found the opposite. 15 years playing guitar, 10 of which professionally, didn't prepare me for how difficult it is to play bass PROPERLY.

I'll admit, many people can "get by" on bass, but to play well, you have to have a better grasp of theory, rythym, melody and harmony than the average good guitar player, plus it's a much more physically demanding instrument to play, heavier, bigger stretches, and most tiimes you can't hide behind FX pedals to mask poor tecnique and a lack of talent.

I Play Schecter Bass - I own a Few Schecter Basses. My favorite players are on the Rivet HEad variety. They are as follows in no particular order.

1. Jah Wobble
2. Charles Levi
3. Paul Raven (RIP)
4. Blasko

I found it hilarious that someone thinks "You can't play chords on bass".
And that "bass is easier".

Shows just how little you know about bass playing.

Remenber the old saying - "Better to keep your mouth shut and have the World think you're a fool, than to open it and prove you're a fool"

bass is easier to like play standardly... it only gets really complicated when you try different playing techniques. i prefer the guitar because its more fun in my opinion..and bass players dont get much credit... so that sucks as well

As long as we're all enjoying our chosen instrument and trying to be a better player, encouraging other people to try playing, that's all that really matters.

I own a sunburst traben phoenix five string, and a fender squire four string. This is my fourth year playing bass. My favorite bassists are justin chancellor, chris squire, LES CLAYPOOL, Geddy Lee, Shavo whateverhislastnameis guy from system of a down(gotta love that goatee), and The guy from the who.
oh, and Jaco is really good too. And Nathan East.

I'd have to give it to Les Claypool when it comes to a bassist. But a coupel other of my favorties are Ryan Martinie(old stuff), Cliff Burton, Krist Novelselic, etc.(not in any particular order)
But anyone that says FIELDY is a good bassist obviously doesn't knwo bass guitar...lets be honest, all he does is slap the B-string but it stands out alot.

But as for basses....Gibson, Warwick, B.C. Rich, Schector, Rickenbacker

Bassists united!

Best in my opinion though is Flea. Oh, and I own some kind of begginner "Johnson" bass.

I like it, but I definitely need a new amp.

well personally i think that the traben line are some of the best basses ever made. which leads to my favorite bassist of all time Bootsy collins who uses traben basses. my favorite style would defiantly have to be metal or punk/emo and funk.
