Kim Deal gets a mention from me simply because it's her basslines that are one of the main reasons i love the Pixies so much.

Alright, I realise that there are a multitude of bassists out there that may have more talent than Simon Gallop, but when you hear a song by The Cure, you hear 3 distinct tracks that are literally the essence of the music: Robert's voice, Simon's bass-line, and Porl/Robert's/etc. guitar lines. I'll give you some great examples of where you would hear Simon's bass where it reflects his talent the most:
Fascination Street Letter to Elise A Forrest Sinking All Cats are Grey Love Song Play For Today Piggy in the Mirror I'm also a fan of Kim Deal. She really does make The Pixies what they are...it's not all Frank Black/Black Francis that makes their music what they are. I'm also big into Rodger Walters of Pink Floyd, Flea of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. They go without saying...
