Default Sitar

I'm getting a sitar! It's supposed to come in the next week or so. My brother's in Nepal right now and he bought one and is shipping it to me from there. The only problem is that I now owe lots of money for it. Oh well, it's worth it.

It'll be a sitar when I get it. It's after that when it might become a sitar bong.

I have Ravi Shankars The Music of India. One of his masterpieces. Does anyone want it?

I'll have to send the files individually because I can't make folders. But its only 4 songs and an introduction. All the songs are over 10 minutes of Sitar playing bliss.

I dig Ravi Shankar... I'd always appreciate an upload.

Never been a fan of the Sitar.
The sound of one just reminds me of a curry.
I don't mean to be flippant, I understand it's a complex musical instrument which takes years to master and I have a healthy respect for Shankar and the tradition of the instrument, but I never quite got the attraction that Jones and Harrison had for it.
And at a risk of sticking my neck out, I can't help but feel their interest in it was a bit affected.

You're the man

I like the sitar when it's played properly... a lot of rock artists like to throw one in there and don't really know how to play it but they figure it's a foreign sound so it'll sound cool... but it just ends up being kind of annoying.

Steve Howe and George Harrison could pull it off though.

But when Green Day use the Sitar like they did on Extraordinary Girl, then it becomes annoying.
