it's not that uncommon. it's just that the guitar IS acting like an antenna and where the signal from the guitar to the amp isn't shielded the radio comes through. there are a few easy fixes.

1 - high end patch cables. they're almost twice the price of regular cables but they're shielded and should eliminate a significant amount of interference (not just radio but hiss from other electronic devices)

2 - aluminum foil. put a bunch of it around the input jack and the end of your patch cable to shield it from the radio signals. it's the same principle as the tin foil hats for crazy paranoid conspiracy theorists but in this case it actually works and doesn't make you seem a few notches past insane.

although sometimes getting the radio to play through the amp works well - especially with a delay and flanger haha

My amp did that. It picked up an opera radio station one time and a Mexican radio station another time. It think my pedal is the reason
