Why exactly do you think bass is easier? The number of strings isn't really relevant.

I disagree really. An instrument is as hard as you make it. If you're going to do the whole 'play a root note once or twice per bar', then bass will be easy.

If you're going to work on truly developing groove, perfect tone and muting, three finger technique etc, then I don't see how bass can be called an easy instrument.

Yeah. My dad is totally interested in teaching me drums. He's glad to see that I have an interest in it. Me and him didn't use to get along well :-P. Now maybe he can help get me off and running. Back when I did trombone I remember rythm and beats were my biggest problem so maybe learning percussion will help. but I will also focus heavy on piano sinse it is a great place to start. If you could give me sheet music or post it on internet or I'll give you my email thats awesome. thanks guys i didnt think posting on a forum would get me this much advice. If you guys can help me more thats cool too lol, I don't kno whether i could use more advice or not really.

good, i really advise piano first. the drums dont have that many notes and its more about keeping a beat and stuff. Piano will give you a solid background in music when it comes to learning other instruments

and the idiot that said that thing about the bass... bass can be easier in some aspects but once you try more complicated playing styles it becomes, well more complicated :P

If you are in to brass trumpet is fun (in my opinion ). Also easy to jump into as it only has 3 keys (although there are more combinations than you would expect...) Gota have lots of lung power however.
