Humbucker vs. Single-coil (title, classic, guitar)

Most Single-coils worth their salt are built to employ some sort of noise cancellation. The Fender samarian cobalts sound awesome.

I like them both, they have different uses. I like having a single coil in the middle and a bridge humbucker both playing when i solo.

Yeah i'd agree pretty much.

In my guitar i have a H S H set up and play my metal stuff using the Bridge humbucker and my dire straights with the single coil. Its a good compromise and gives me the range i need with out two guitars.

But at the end of the day i'd go for humbuckers as the nosie cancelation and the fatter distortion sound they give wins me over.

Considering a second guitar with a full set of hotrails in it abit like dave murrays guitar from iron maiden like he used on the Rock in Rio gig.

I don't like single coils that much. I have an HSH set up and i never use the sing coil. I like humbuckers alot more. Although i do use the single coil to play some dire straits. Oh its great to see anothe dire straits fan ^ ^

humbucker, no end..

but i suppose it does depend on what your ater such as, if your after a twangy sound, then a single coil bridge-middle pickup would provide the correct sound

the humbuckers kick ass for metal though, unless you fancy a mellow solo, but for rhytm( i cant spell that) the humber power owns
