One of the recent cool but kinda weird instrument I've seen was the 3d printed violin.

Those are pretty cool, but everything I've seen performed on them was awful. As a guy who likes instruments that sound like ****, that one really sounds like ****.

The Guqin is nifty, imagine a Guzheng/Koto mixed with a slide guitar. I would post a video of someone playing one, but I don't have enough posts yet.
