With Wavves, situation is the same as with many bands: in the beginning they don't know how to play, thus their music sounds like nothing else, but then they shake down with their instruments and produce more generic stuff, inspired by their favorite bands that everybody knows. Wavves' latest is still quite a decent album, but as a performer he barely does much, perhaps due to considering himself a rock star or something.
