Socially, yes. I feel there are people who go through certain circumstances that leads to being gay while "genetically" there is no difference from a straight person. That, and if this is truly linked to a gene on the Y chromosome, what about lesbianism?
So, yeah, it's complicated. I do feel it is important to show a genetic link, though, if any sympathy is to be had from ass hole conservatives.
